I own a few B&D tools and haven't had any problems with them. I bought a refurbished 18volt drill and a 12volt drill. I haven;t had any problems with the 18volt in the 3 years I have had it and I use the 12v for work. Other than the battery dieing somewhat quick on the 12v I have had no issues. I have used it for a lot stuff I shouldn't have and it still goes good.
I think I'll take a look at the Ryobi set.

I LOVE my Dewalt tools too... They are very beefy...

The only black & decker stuff I use is those stupid little 9v cordless drills for hanging pictures and crap like that..

Just got a set of Ryobi's for Christmas...seem to be very good quality.

Haven't had a chance to use them yet.

I've had a 24v B&D drill that I got from one of the Outlet stores thats been great for 2 years so far. Came with 2 batteries and they both still hold charges fine.

Default Three cheers for Dewalt!!

I have and can only recomment Dewalt. Some of the tools that I have are:

18V Grinder
18V Right Angle Drill
18V Hammer Drill
18V Flashlight
18V Sawzall
18V Circular Saw

DW239 Drill
DW26451K Random Orbit Sander
DW616PK Router
DW682K Plate Joiner
DW716 Compound Miter
DW735 Planer
DW746 Table Saw

All of my 18V tools have been used and abused. I can't tell you how many times I expected to blow the tranny out of my drill when drilling 15/16" holes through .250 Al plate.

I saw a Dewalt hammer drill fall 60 feet from a cell tower and nothing happened to it.

All of my friends that still work in construction use Dewalt and only Dewalt. They were approached by Hilti to try some of the prototype drills and they were very impressed with it and it stood up to the challenge. But they still only run Dewalt.

I don't even do construction full time anymore, but I still wouldn't buy anthing else. Even my wife knows that if she brings a new tool home for me, that it had better be yellow. Even considering the fact that Dewalt is more expensive, I have had mine for 4 years and have had no problem after all of the abuse, I can't recommend anything else. You can go buy a new BD for $100 every year and I'll pay the big money up front to have something that will last.

When I worked for a cabinet installation company we used DeWalt drills until we found the Milwaukee ones. It seemed that we would burn up the DeWalt drills about once a year from use. Not to mention the batteries were finicky as well. The head installer has now had is Milwaukee for the past three years and it still runs like the day he took it out of the case - he averages 60 hours a week doing install. Next time Farm and Fleet has a sale I am going to get one for home use.

one of my friends has dewalt. I do like the tools alot and if I was using them all the time I could see it being worth the time. The only thing he doesn't like about the ones he has is that they are kind of heavy especially when you are using them for long periods of time.

Default Milwaukee

I agree that milwaukee tools are very good. My dad has always had Milwaukee and I even still have a couple of old hole shooters. I'm not sure about the current models, but when I bought mine I didn't like the balance of the Milwaukee cordless offerings.
