Default Ah Finally.

A surround sound system!

Bought it today, Panasonic

5 disc CD/DVD changer
AM/FM radio with antenna (badass)
1080i compatible. (my tv is only 720p)
1000w sound system with sub, twin side tv towers, center speaker and twin rear wireless speakers.

Onto the pictures. Before I start getting crazy "That looks like ass!" comments, I set it up in a HURRY, nothing is finalized.

Main receiver on my stand with the Sub below.

Sub/System/Xbox/etc

My DirecTV box and top speaker. Yes the wires are hanging loose, I don't have any moulding yet. I mounted my shelf I've been meaning to mount for 3 months.

The wireless rear speakers. They work decent playing music. Yes, my 'nightstand' is a mess. I need to get some more speaker wire to extend them so I can spread them out.

yeah I definitely need to clean. Got sick one week and have just been 'blah' since then... the cleanliness went downhill about that time.

Not a bad system for a bedroom. With the 1080i and 720p supposivly they are about the same quality, at least thats what a lot of websites say. Looking good, I need to buy or build a new entertainment center my self.

When I get around to it, there'll be a 55-60" for the main room with a bigger badder surround sound system for when I have friends over.

Default Subwoofer placement

You should move your subwoofer off of that rack and onto the floor. Because of the inertia of the cone and the resistance of the atmosphere to your cones excursion, the whole assembly will want to move back and forth. Obviously this isn't a largely visible movement, but it is there. If you place your box on the floor and use a coupling device (speaker spikes for example which can be purchased at PartsExpress.) You will improve the response of your subwoofer. Once you can couple the enclosure to a larger structure, the energy of the subwoofer will be focused more on actual output. The same principles apply to your speakers. The most dramatic and performance driven upgrade you can do to your system is with coupling devices on your drivers, be it spikes or hard mounting.
