i've never primered over silicone... but i know primer sticks to caulk and stuff like that, so it might work.

Well, small update, the primer worked great, so you're safe from litigation for now :P
The masking tape job however, sucked ass
It bled into the low spots of the texture, which I thought I had prevented by smashing the tape in with a dull putty knife around the edge. It didnt work, so now I'm wondering what the best way of fixing it is.
I thought about just going around with a razor blade and picking it out of those low spots, but I'm wondering if there's a more effective method.

tape sucks.

even the blue shit that is made for painting sucks. it still bleeds through.

razor blade is probably a bad idea...

can you take a pic of it? i'm not sure exactly what happened

It bled under the masking tape, but only in the low spots of the texture (orange peel)

YOu need Green Tape... Not blue for fine definition lines.
