pull off the tape ASAP. you don't want to let it dry on it.

once you put a coat on, pull it and clean up what soaked through.

Shit, I put 2 or 3 coats on before I pulled the tape

I guess I'll primer the bad spots and repaint it with the off-white color. They gave us the left over interior paint, so It should match up.
MORE frickin work

What are your opinions on how it looks?

Congrats on the new home! It's quirky, but cool. The property looks beautiful, as well. I'd like to visit Alaska sometime, but the girlfriend is convinced that you guys are buried in several feet of snow 365 days a year. :P

To avoid bleed through, maybe you could have painted over your tape edges with the original off-white color, then painted the red. I suppose that would have required a lot of the original paint, but I hear it's a good way to get laser-straight masking lines.

The cut in was an easier fix than I thought, I still gotta take pics of it with all the light fixtures back in etc.
