anyway, yes... the fed has done some money injection into the economy to help out, but its not working, really.

Countrywide, one of the leading lenders in the US is just about bankrupt, and their stock refelcts this.

its really just a classic case of big business and government interaction.
the same way the gov't sets max rates for necessities, like power companies. they have to petition the governing board to raise rates and all that....
