Either that, or build up the whole yard more so you have walls on front & side, and the lawn is level in front of the house...

Thanks Noah.

well...a few weeks later,...

dug out all the chips from the stump grinder, tossed them under the shed.

tried to hack the stump more in area's the tree guys missed...so much for saying 6" under grade...they only topped the grade...so I got to back-fill and and cover more...

so that means...pile up more dirt, gravel, rocks, old bricks that I've cleaned up around the property...and make a base.

at first, I was just going to go with a slope, but the wife came out today to help...and we mentioned a step, and slope it to where the rain wont puddle under the porch...so that means a lot of shoveling...

She wanted the patio to be as level as possible...so this will take some time....

A buddy at work has a motorized tamper...so I've been pounding the sand all day...for about 5 hours, raking, shoveling...etc... I'm dead....

I guess this is what they call "sweat equity"..............

Very nice Clayton... I was going to mention if you take the time to wait, if you would have just drilled a bunch of 1/2" - 3/4" holes into the underground of the stump and left it for the winter, it would have been dead & crumbled by the spring and easy to roto-till and mix up.

You need to be careful burying the stump like that because it will eventually rot... or regrow... and will possibly ruin that nice patio you are putting down.
