Rep Power: 0 ![]() | First off, HI! New to the forum (how long has this thing been around anyway?) I was directed here by a Honda-Tech member, so if you're on H-T and you're the reason I'm here then thanks! I purchased this house A few months ago, however I lived a year in it as a rent house. When the landlord tried to sell it out from under us I snatched it up. From all accounts, it was built in the late 1920's. Very old, outdated, and full of character. I knew from living in it for a year exactly what I wanted to do first...a dishwasher! Having no dichwasher gets old real fast, especially when your girlfriend thinks she's Paula Dean. Don't get me wrong, she's amazing, but then she expects me to stand over the sink for an hour? Not happening.... So. You'll see by the pics that the cabinets origianlly in the kitchen were NOT meant for a dishwasher, so a new dishwasher meant updated cabinets. And updated cabinets meant new countertops, and I'm not going to have new counter tops with crappy carpeted floors...you can see where this is going...I'll let the pics speak for themselves. I'll post more after work/tomorrow when I find them. Input is appreciated! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | the upper cabinets to match the lower ones. I didnt' tackle that in the same weekend because it will mean removing the 1/2" glaze found on the walls. When I do, I'll be constructing a tile or possibly tin backsplash. Yes, the tiles are 16", and they're BIG, but I like it, its different, you don't see it everyday. |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | how deep of a sink did you upgrade to , From the looks at the waste line , The SKY was the limit there. Garbage disposals are great for single sinks. 1200 , sounds about right . |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | 8" Sink. I was going to go with a garbage disposal but to keep costs down, and mostly to finish this project in one weekend, (no extra plubmin, ect.) I decided against it. I can always put one in later. |
