Rep Power: 5 ![]() | I'm going to be shopping around for TVs here in the next few weeks. I want to move my 20" up to my room and get at least a 30-40" for the family room down here. 1. It must be HDTV compatible. 2. I need one S-video input. 3. I need one normal (red white and yellow cable... can't remember those cable names) input. 4. One PC input (I eventually want to run it through my desktop if I can ever figure out why it blue screen of deaths' on me). 5. Normal CATV input 6. CRT or LCD (preferably not an LCD, those are just insane in prices around here, saw a 32" LCD for 1800...) Talking to my brother he said to stay away from an LCD simply because of the price, I agree. Minimum size: 30" Good quality brands you recommend? I'd like to keep it between $500-600 but I'm willing to go up to $1000 if need be. Any and every suggestion welcome.

Rep Power: 10 ![]() | dude, i paid 950 bucks for my 32" lcd with hdmi, 768p. it has everything you want i have the previous model to this (this one replace mine) LG 32LC7D 32'' LCD HDTV at Crutchfield.com CRT... you can't even find any more around here. DLP is cheaper for the size, and IMO it owns lcd in picture quality. only downfall is its a little bigger.... but you are willing to go CRT, so, i don't think size matters. this one is the same price, and 14" bigger Samsung - 46" DLP HDTV - HLT4675S |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | one thing you REALLY need to consider if its going to be flat screen or mounted on the wall, is the screen size vs. the room size. I have a 42" plasma in my living room, and in the room its perfect, but if I were to have a living room 1.5 - 2 times the size it would have to be at least a 50" to look right. I almost bought a 36" that was the same price but better quality and I would have been severely dissapointed. I'm actually pretty happy with mine because it has everything you've mentioned (I can hook my laptop into it, HD signal from the air waves, hdmi inputs, everything) and it looks much bigger in the room than it really is. Just food for thought |
