They had installed it over some sort of cardboard type fiber backerboard. It was a real pain to scrape up and removing the 300 or some odd nails but I think that restoreing the original hardwoods are well worth it, when it comes time to sell. Even if they are a bit "rough" it adds to the character of the house. | |
