Default reprogramming garage openers

anyone have any idea how to reprogram the garage door opener keypad?

not the remotes, or the units.... the combo thing that people mount on the side of the garage so they don't lock themselves out.

for now, i took it off the house and brought it inside..... but i'd like to use it, but don't have the combo from the previous owner, nor have a manual.

its a craftsman generic 1/2 horse opener thingge.

There should be a button on the garage door opener (Climb up there)... Press and
release, and within 10 seconds, type in a new code... the door should go down.

just got off the ladder....

there's directions on the opener for using and resetting the remotes, and the up/down length, but no button or anything about the trim-mount key-pad combo remote.

any oother ideas?

hold the activation button until the bulb on the unit flashes. then release.

there's no dip switches like the old ones... it makes its own combo or something...

i tried holding ENTER and # and * on the keypad, but nothing happened.

i've looked on the unit, the remotes, the keypads, and the inside garage wired remotes.

Is there a garage door shop around your hometown there? The place I got my garage door quotes from will stop by free of charge and reset (or show you how to correctly) remotes and openers for you so can put in a new code.
