| jeef | I am looking at a fixer upper house. The neighborhood appears to be nice and its in a good area. The house definetly seems to be priced under what the neighborhood would be worth. Is there a better site than Zillow that gives property values? I do not trust Zillow since my Condo is worth 20k less than identical units and then it said my girlfriends fathers beach cottage is only worth 190k which is far from what its worth. What other ways can i determine a rough value of the area? I havent made an appointment to look at this house yet since I want to find out if its worth putting money into. The house will need a sewer assement, I will call the town to find out how much this will be. It needs a lot of tree work. Who lines the front of their property with trees? The house is the ugliest color of yellow ever. I do not mind doing the work and it will definetly need some. It looks like one of those houses an old person owned that never really updated the place. I am going to do a drive by again and see if I can find any neighbors who are willing to talk about the place and neighborhood. |

Rep Power: 10 ![]() | zillow is good..... when they are notified of things. my house is listed wrong (missing 400 sq ft) and it was listed for more than i paid for it. so i guess it goes both ways. my condo was dead on. a house that an owner has lived in for 40 years, won't be accurate on that site, because, well, it never sold. there's no "last sold price" and current market change to factor or anything. your place listed at 20k less could be a sign that you got a good deal. you did put a lot of work into your place, and it did smell like Thai food for a month.... lol. that might be the last transaction they had of it, thats all. when you buy or sell, you can tell zillow what it sold for too, to help their system.

| jeef | Its a small ranch, I really don't need too much more. An old person definetly lived there. I think that I am going to put it on hold for now. I can't stand my job right now and I need to figure out wtf to do with my life first. |
