Default Doors.

Walking through my living room I can feel the cold coming off the door.

I know it's mostly due to the fact that there is no glass/plastic in the screen door, and the door itself looks like crap. I'd like to get a screen door that over the summer I can put screens in, and over the winter I can put glass/plastic in to keep out more of the cold.

My question is, what do you measure to get your fitments? The door frame itself or the door itself? I can't remember the measurements I took of the door, but I know it's not a normal door size.

Found a semi decent picture of this door. Really it's more of a pain in the ass to have than anything.

Measure the frame of the screen door... I bought an Andersen Self Storing 3000 series for my house... I had the same issue as you where I could feel breezes coming through the door in winter... So far, it is AMAZING how much it helps... With the glass up, I can actually leave my front door open and barely feel the cold...

Before I would definitely feel the cold coming in... And a new front door is on my list... either that, or some better way to seal the front door... Maybe shim the striker plate or something...

When my buddy did his front door, he had the frame completely off. There was a massive hole in there that the air was going into. He sealed the living shit out of it with that foam spray. Dropped his heating bill by 20 bucks last winter easily.

Nah I haven't, but the metal screen door simply needs to be replaced. I figure I'd do a functional and visual upgrade at the same time.
