This is crown molding , It will either go at the top of the cabinets or at the top pf the wall joining with the ceiling. You can choose from over 250 different styles of crown molding. Plus add some dental or rope molding to the crown to achieve the look that your going for.

Base molding is what goes around the floor attaching to the walls. Also you have prob 500 different styles plus you can add molding to it , like base cap, quarter round, shoe modling ect.

Scribe molding is a thin 5/8 x 1'' x 1/4 strip that is used to trim the cabinetry out upon completion.

ah. I haven't really even got that far into thinking about it. I've mostly been looking at the cabinets, countertops and sink designs thus far.

That would look good on a diamond pattern. So you like the idea of having the grout lines in between the checkers. Never seen it like that before. But if it was on a diamond pattern I would almost go with it in my house.

Well the tiles aren't laid in yet. Still walkin on the subfloor until we can figure out the kitchen. (cabinets, sink, counter top... yada)

Thanks... it'll even get better once I get the rest of the drywall hung and everything finished/painted.
