So Brian (BDN on hondaswap, not B), mentioned when he got back from VA that his buddy wants to come up here to live and he asked me if he could stay here, what rent would be, etc.

First he asked if he'd lower it and I'm like nah... I need to get some shit on the house done and the only way to do that is to take some of the financial drain off of me.

I told him rent would remain the same (which is 220 for him, and would be 220 for his friend, then I'd just pay the other 10 bucks on it), but the utilities would be split in 1/3rds instead of halves.

Basically this guy and Brian would pretty much pay my mortgage for me and That would free up about 250-300 a month from me that I could start putting towards windows, doors and more ... (windows doors and more is a company here)

Anyway... Me thinks I'm going to be ok. Shit has been getting tighter and tighter somehow. My mortgage is due tomorrow and my consolidation loan was due 3 days ago, neither are getting paid on time (my bank says that's ok) and I have a 15 day grace period on my mortgage, so I'm not sweating it, but at the same time I think about it still. Ya know?

Just getting it out of my head on here or wherever helps me to relax a little bit.

Finally... I can do the door and every 2-3 months I can get a window replaced. Yay for more efficiency!

Why not 300, that is friggin cheap. I could see 220 if you had like 4 roomates.

Brian makes roughly the same as I do, and while he helps me keep the house for us both to stay at, I'm not going to start making money off him so he can't do what he wants.

With two roommates, I'm living here for probably (an over-estimation) of around 100-150 a month, instead of the 400-500 it is now. and then I get all those taxes back.

Maybe its just me, but I wouldn't have put this information up on the boards for public knowledge. You're exposing yourself to some possible jealousy regarding the living expenses.

Because I told him about it. His rent isn't going up, and a 3rd person actually helps him out too.

You also make a hell of a lot more than I do. I don't pay rent, I pay a little over half of every bill right now. If one is 68 dollars, I only ask for 30 from brian.

I have car payment, insurance, credit cards, cell, and a loan out on top of household/utility bills. I only net 1480 a month.
